When it comes to the structural integrity, safety, and curb appeal of your property, high-quality stonework and concrete are just as vital as a sturdy roof. From the foundation that holds your home up to the chimney that rises above it, masonry is the literal backbone of your house. Over time, however, New Jersey’s harsh freeze-and-thaw cycles can cause brick to crack, mortar to crumble, and concrete steps to shift.
At Right Team, we bring the same dedication, precision, and honest craftsmanship to masonry as we do to all of our construction services. Based in Nutley, NJ, we are a fully licensed and insured team of expert masons specializing in brickwork, concrete, stone paving, and structural repairs. Whether you need an emergency chimney repair, a beautiful new paver walkway, or foundation waterproofing, we deliver durable results built to stand the test of time.
We handle everything from intricate, decorative stone installations to heavy-duty structural repairs. No matter the size of your project, our masons combine old-world craftsmanship with modern techniques to ensure a flawless finish.
Your chimney takes a beating from the elements. Because it sits high above your roofline, it absorbs the brunt of wind, rain, snow, and extreme temperature changes. When water penetrates your chimney’s mortar joints, it freezes and expands, causing the bricks to loosen, crack, and eventually fall away.
Ignoring chimney damage doesn’t just lead to roof leaks; it poses a serious structural and fire safety hazard to your family. We specialize in:
Chimney Repointing (Tuckpointing): We carefully scrape out old, decaying mortar and replace it with fresh, color-matched mortar to restore your chimney’s structural strength and prevent water intrusion.
Partial or Total Chimney Rebuilding: If the brickwork has severely deteriorated or shifted, our team safely dismantles the damaged structure and rebuilds it with premium, weather-resistant bricks.
Crown Repair and Replacement: The concrete cap at the top of your chimney (the crown) prevents water from seeping into the bricks below. We repair cracked crowns or pour new ones to keep water out completely.
Your front steps and walkways are the very first things guests notice when they arrive at your home. Cracked, uneven steps or sunken sidewalks aren’t just an eyesore—they are a major trip-and-fall liability.
We design and construct beautiful, durable entryways and paths that enhance your home’s curb appeal and safety:
Concrete and Brick Steps: We repair masonry stairs that have pulled away from the house or completely pour and build new, elegant steps using concrete, brick, or natural stone.
Paver Walkways and Patios: Transform your outdoor living space with custom-designed interlocking stone pavers. Perfect for walkways, patios, and backyard entertainment spaces.
Stonework and Veneers: Add luxury to your home’s exterior or interior with cultured stone veneer accents on foundations, retaining walls, or accent facades.
Whether you need a new structural foundation slab or a retaining wall to manage soil erosion and sloping in your yard, concrete and heavy stonework require precise engineering. Poorly mixed concrete or lack of proper steel reinforcement will lead to rapid cracking and structural failure.
Our masonry team handles:
Retaining Walls: We build functional, heavy-duty retaining walls using concrete blocks, interlocking stones, or natural stone to manage backyard grading and prevent soil movement.
Concrete Slabs and Patios: From smooth garage floors to decorative stamped concrete backyard patios, we handle the excavation, grading, framing, and pouring with flawless accuracy.
A damp crawl space, bowing basement walls, or stair-step cracks in your foundation blocks are clear warning signs of structural trouble. Hydrostatic pressure from wet soil outside can push against your foundation, forcing water through microscopic cracks.
We provide vital foundation masonry repairs, including crack injection, structural reinforcement, and exterior waterproofing barriers to keep your basement dry and your home structurally sound.
Masonry is a permanent art form—once concrete cures or mortar sets, changing it is incredibly difficult and expensive. Here is why local homeowners and businesses trust Right Team to get the job done right the first time:

We don’t believe in low-balling a quote just to slap you with hidden fees halfway through a project. We provide a complimentary, thorough on-site evaluation of your masonry needs. Our team explains the structural issues, lays out your material choices, and provides a completely transparent, itemized estimate so you know exactly where every dollar goes.
Masonry work can be messy—dust, wet mortar, and heavy stone are part of the daily job. However, we treat your property with the utmost respect. We lay down protective barriers to shield your lawn, landscaping, and windows, and we perform a rigorous daily and final clean-up, leaving your property looking better than we found it.
